The apartment is part of a private development of 22 apartments set in their own beautiful gardens with a swimming pool (with some sunbeds). It is on the Riviera del Sol (between Marbella & Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol).
It has been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2020 (4 consecutive years now). Travellers' Choice Award 2020 has also been achieved.
There are bars, restaurants & shops & a good supermarket etc within walking distance of the apartment.
Beaches in this area don’t become crowded even in the summer as they are away from the tourist hotels. The local beach (with beach bars) is reached by footbridge over the road - about 5 minutes on foot.
There are good sea views from the apartment & on clear days you can even see the Rock of Gibraltar. The towns of Marbella or Fuengirola are easily reached by car or frequent bus service. The nearest airport is Malaga which is 25 minutes away by car.

There are 2 bedrooms sleeping 4 comfortably, but the apartment will accommodate 6 maximum (additional charge will apply). The apartment is on the upper floor of a 2 high townhouse-style development of just 22 privately owned apartments around a private swimming pool & beautiful gardens. They are rarely ever fully occupied so the pool area is often quiet. The rooms are large & airy with marble floors throughout. The new fitted kitchen is well-equipped with a large fridge/freezer, full size cooker, microwave & washing machine etc. The family bathroom is fully tiled and fitted with bath, washbasin, shower over the bath & toilet. There is an en-suite shower room which gives you a 2nd bathroom (shower, toilet & washbasin). The ensuite bedroom has a double bed & the 2nd bedroom has twin beds with fitted wardrobes.
The lounge/dining room is large & well furnished. There is a flat screen TV & DVD player & lots of DVD's. UK TV channels are now available. There is a CD player/radio. The sofa converts to a double bed if required. There is a travel cot in the apartment which you are welcome to borrow. Please take your own cot bedding. Linen is provided (sheets, blankets, pillowcases, tea towels & 1 towel per person. There is no extra charge for laundry, gas or electricity (except the air conditioning which is operated on a coin meter). The apartment will be cleaned & sheets laundered between lets.
Full air-conditioning has been installed. (with heating facility for winter months) From the lounge there are wall to wall sliding patio doors onto the balcony. There are games & books etc along with the usual tourist details & maps. My agents (Cariba Sol) are English and have an office which is 5 mins drive away. They look after the property & are on hand in case of any problems
Fibre optic has now been installed. This means there is wifi in the apartment from 1 May to 31 Oct each year. Extra periods might be possible. You would need to check with me to see if it is feasible for your dates.
Car hire is recommended but you could get a taxi from the airport and use the nearby bus service and coach trips. I use a local company called Helle Hollis & get 15% discount This discount also applies to anyone staying in my apartment. Also, if you book at least 30 days before your holiday then you can get a free upgrade. The website is http://www.hellehollis.com. My Home Owners' Club number which you need to quote is H0203 (ie the 0's are zeros). When you make a booking, you need to put in the address of the apartment which is Apartment 8, Jaramar, Calle Sirius, Riviera del Sol, Mijas Costa).

CLEANING THE APARTMENT & LAUNDERING THE SHEETS
This is done between each let. The price of the apartment includes the changeover clean and the laundering of one set of sheets per person when you leave. During your stay they will be your own responsibility. There is a washing machine in the apartment. If you want a mid-holiday clean done for you & the sheets changed, then you will need to contact my agents (Cariba Sol) to find out how much it will cost & then pay them direct.
The usual times for letting are to arrive after 4 pm & to depart by 10 am. Sometimes this doesn’t fit in with flight times & you might find that this will cause you some difficulty. If so, please check with me before departure to see if there is another booking either immediately before or after you. If your flight home is late afternoon then it might be possible for you to leave your luggage in the Cariba Sol office (5 mins away by car). You will need to liaise with them a few days before.
One towel is provided per person. Tea towels are provided. There are more than 6 beach towels stored in the wardrobe. If space in your suitcase is limited then you are welcome to borrow them but please replace where found & leave them clean & dry. Please don't leave them out for the laundry or they won't come back!

There is a hairdrier & an iron/ironing board in the apartment.
KEYS FOR THE APARTMENT
I will send the set of keys to you shortly before departure. Please return them to me as soon as possible after your return (by normal post - not 'signed for'). There is also a key for the outside security gates. Take a pocket torch if you are arriving in darkness.

I have installed air conditioning throughout the apartment. This is operated by coin meter (1 euro per hour which operates all 3 air con units) The coin meter is on a time switch - further instructions are in the apartment.
Please note that no smoking is permitted inside the apartment.

Cariba Sol (English) have looked after the apartment for many years. They organise cleaning, changing sheets, repairs, supplying calor gas refill bottles etc (NB you are responsible for changing over the gas bottle when it runs out - spares are on the back balcony - keys to the cage are in the kitchen).
